The following document outlines the scope and requirements for an Ecommerce project (approx 1,000 items in product catalog) based on the open source Magento Ecommerce platform. Contractor selection will be based on the following factors 1. Competency - ability to show past experience and success utilizing the Magento Ecommerce platform 2. Efficiency - this project will be based on an agile development methodology 3. Willingness to Partner - this will be the first of many such projects to come in 2009 3. Price - competitive bid pricing is preferred Bid Solicitation Please provide (1) a fixed bid for this project and (2) an hourly rate for ongoing support post-production implementation. Also provide your timeline to move the site into production. Project Overview Project Management is seeking a contractor to build & configure an ecommerce website the specializes in discount and wholesale furniture Contractor Tasks 1. Creation of the following Menu items, Sub-Menu Items, Site Sections and Categories both within the site hierarchies: - Home - Furniture > Approx 35 Furniture sub-categories - About Us - Contact Us - Privacy Policy - Shopping Cart - Shipping & Returns 2. Bulk import routines will need to be configured to initially load the product catalog with the initial 1,000 products. All product images will need to be uploaded as well. 3. Sample text will need to be inserted as place holders for the content items, sections, & categories until the final production text has been delivered. 4. Modifications to the current template to meet the needs of the final specifications. This will include CSS modifications to match color, font, & module positioning requirements. 5. Configuration of the Magento checkout process to submit for approval to an Authorize.net merchant account. Authorize.net account details will be provided. 6. Configuration of tax calculations, shipping methods, global store configuration, payment/checkout process, and modifications to the Magento product display page (see below) will be required before moving into production. 7. Many of the furniture items sold on this site will be sold as a set or a collection of individual items. We require the contractor to configure the site to support the selling of product groups as outlined in the following article: http://www.magentocommerce.com/knowledge-base/entry/tutorial-creating-a-grouped-product In addition to this configuration, we require one programmatic change. As the shopper edits the quantity of the individual items in the set, we require that the dollar amount and total item quantity be calculated at the bottom of the page dynamically. If it is not possible to automatically update the dollar amount, then a “recalculate” hyperlink would suffice (see image below). This feature will allow the shopper to custom build their product group and know the total amount prior to proceeding to the checkout process. Graphics Contractor is NOT required to create or edit any graphic images associated with this project. Base Magento Install and Server Configuration Contractor will NOT have to install or perform a base configuration of Magento on the server. Project Implementation Methodology the contractor must agree to work under the following Agile Development Methodology: 1. Contractor will have daily (Mon - Fri) web-based conference calls (Scrums) with the Project Manager to discuss issues and daily tasks to be accomplished. 2. Contractor will keep a log of time spent on individual tasks and will turn in the log report each week. 3. Contractor agrees to have the final site into production on or before 4 weeks after the beginning of the project. |
