Please see the other "deal of the day" project posting in the featured projects area for more background and information. THAT project is to create an ODAT (one deal at a time) site and THIS project is to consolidate or site scrape a large number of ODAT sites together into a tabbed configuration. One site per tab. The idea of this project is to be a value adding service provider to customers of other ODAT sites. The best way to explain it would be to refer you to gearattack.com it is made by someone in Canada actually, and he is right now an unpaid affiliate but has done some paid consulting for backcountry (where I am currently employed) in the past to develop the "desktop alerts". He is providing value add services to all of our ODAT sites at backcountry. I love what he has done, but I want to take it further. Namely I love the way gearattack.com 1. Populates and keeps up with the ODAT sites which can sell out or be pulled down at any time 2. Scrapes the ODAT sites for product description, images 3. Keeps a history of each time the item is run on line, and can recall that session 4. Uses the "item_code" variable from the sites to also refer people to backcountryoutlet.com to purchase it at 40% off after the item has ended 5. Allows you to view recently ended items (but does a poor job to show off the deals and pictures, and is way to text heavy) 6. Has a buy button that takes you to the respective odat site to make a purchase Additional things that the site needs to take it to the next level 1. Be tab based (similar to backcountry.com then clicking on the outlet tab) and you know you are on a distinct part of the site. 2. Include a tab for the 4 current backcountry sites, woot.com and several others, including the one in the other project. 3. Have a log in area where people can log in and -- Set brand and gear preferences, and are notified by email/ text message when one of the odat items is a match. -- Select which tabs they want to see when logged in 4. When logged in have "rapid check out" on our paintball ODAT site 5. When logged in have assisted checkout, Populates the first page of billing/contact information on Backcountry's and others odat sites (no CC of course This is allot to take in not to mention hard to explain in a post but please contact me via PMB or in some way so that I can answer questions and fill in any gaps. Although we are price sensitive, selection will be made based upon the most eloquent, robust solution, communication, and perhaps interest in continued work with us. Additional Info (Added 30/12/08 at 1:45 (EST))... The date that this project is scheduled to close is all screwed up and I can not bump it up only push it back.
